Reuse coffee: Tips and ideas for cold coffee
You can no longer drink it, but it's too good to throw away – what to do with the cooled coffee? Falstaff went in search of practical solutions.
Coffee, the morning elixir of life for many, is primarily a pleasure in its fresh, hot state. When it gets cold, it is often a nuisance - because then it often loses its aroma and then the question arises: what should happen to it? Should the coffee find its way down the drain or become a quick and easy iced coffee? Is it true that cold coffee actually acts as a beautifier or is this just an outdated superstition? Whether as a basis for refreshing drinks or in the kitchen - cold coffee can be used in many different ways.
Wonder ingredient in the kitchen
Coffee in itself can work wonders for both cooking and baking. It is not only ideal for desserts such as tiramisu or coffee ice cream but can be used as a secret ingredient in baking recipes to give the taste a special intensity. It's nice to know that cold coffee can also add a special twist to savoury dishes.
In the freezer compartment
Why not chill it completely when it's already cold? Especially in summer or on the last warm days of fall, iced coffee becomes a highlight. Regular ice cubes are normally used for it , but more exciting creations could be conjured up with coffee ice cubes . For example, the hyped iced matcha latte with a hint of coffee or the bumblebee coffee – espresso with orange juice – could be put to the test.
The open beauty secret
It is not entirely clear how the myth that coffee is good for the skin came about, but it is certainly no coincidence. For years, the hot drink has been said to be the beauty miracle weapon par excellence when cooled down. The antioxidants contained in coffee are said to help the skin regenerate. In addition, caffeine stimulates blood circulation in the skin and scalp and can therefore also be used for hair care.
Out of the kitchen, into the garden
No green thumb? No problem, cold coffee can help here too. Whether in the garden, on the patio or on the balcony, it is ideal as a natural fertilizer as it provides valuable nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, which support plant growth . When the cooled coffee is worked into the soil, it can be used quickly and easily as a liquid fertilizer.
