Non-alcoholic options increasingly in demand at weddings
I do (not drink)! A recent study by Weddyplace shows shifting preferences at weddings, such as an increased demand for soft drinks and low-alcohol beverages.
A recent study by the digital wedding platform , in cooperation with the sparkling wine distributor Henkell Freixenet, shows an increased demand for non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks at weddings. More than 7,600 couples were surveyed in order to provide a comprehensive picture of current trends in the wedding sector.
Couples increasingly value a conscious choice of drinks that combines enjoyment and responsibility.

One in four stay dry
The study revealed that one in four guests do not drink alcohol at weddings – including pregnant women, designated drivers, and teetotalers. Non-alcoholic alternatives, on the other hand, are the latest trend: 78.8% of couples already offer non-alcoholic sparkling wine, wine or virgin cocktails to give their guests a wide choice.
Beyond orange juice
Virgin aperitifs are also on the rise: More than 70 percent of couples said they would opt for stylish, non-alcoholic Spritz variants instead of the classic orange juice. Low-alcohol drinks, on the other hand, are still relatively unknown but show promise: while only 39.2% of respondents were familiar with the term "low alcohol", 62.7% of those who were aware of the concept are already opting for alternatives with a reduced alcohol content.
"We see a clear trend here. Non-alcoholic beverages have long been more than just an alternative or a substitute. Rather, they are an extension of the festivities. With our strong brands, we offer non-alcoholic products for every taste and every occasion – and, of course, the perfect choice for one of the best days of your life," says Vanessa Lehmann, Head of Communications at Henkell Freixenet.
